I work in digital education. I'm not a trained software engineer — no computer science degree, no development job — I just enjoy building things I'm curious about and learning whatever each one turns out to need.
Most of what's on this site started as something I wanted for myself: a way to keep family photos readable years from now, a small tool to tidy up something messy, an excuse to find out what current AI models can actually do. I build them, use them, and keep the ones that stick.
What I like about this kind of tinkering is that it keeps me honest about how things really work — which turns out to be useful in my day job too, whenever I have to explain technology to someone else.
Curiosity first: I start projects because I want to understand something or because I need the thing to exist — not to demonstrate a skill set. Learning the tools is the part I enjoy.
Usable by other people: Coming from education, I care that a thing is understandable. I try to keep markup sensible and to add settings like themes and reduced motion, because they cost little and help a lot.
- Learning by building: Small projects I actually use, picked up one problem at a time.
- Accessible by habit: Keyboard navigation, readable type, and motion settings, because I use them too.
- AI as a tool: Tinkering with models to see where they genuinely help rather than just look impressive.
